Silent Sales Machine

Most eBay sellers do not go beyond placing their description and pictures in their auction listing to sell their item. They view selling on eBay auctions or other auction listings the same today as everyone did before audio and video became easily available online.

If you limit your view of your online auction selling business to not include at least audio, then you are making an eBay selling mistake. Why leave room for your competitors to get the edge on you?

I'm going to reveal to you simple eBay strategies and techniques for using audio in your auctions, "About Me" page and on your websites which will help you to increase your profits on eBay so read this all the way to the end! These are very important but simple auction tricks you can use to gain the edge over your competition.

Even if you don't put into practice any other ebay strategy, utilizing these multi media tips alone will greatly enhance your eBay business! There aren't many online auction sellers using multi media strategies with their online auction listings.

They're leaving opportunity on the table and room for you to get in the minds of your visitors and leave an impression! They are allowing you to steal their market share! After all, if you think about it, what are the commercials that you remember most? They are usually the ones that you associate a song, a punch line, or a video moment to. Often, the ones you remember most are the ones where the advertiser has touched something in you to cause you to remember it, even years later! You see, marketers and advertisers use methods and tactics to get their message or name stuck in your mind.

Wal Mart for example concentrates their efforts on getting in the minds of the consumer. What do you think about when you hear Wal Mart?... Always low prices…?

Why not do the same with your online auction business? Why not create a message for your visitors with your own voice so you can market your products, website or get your message across?

The great news is doing this is not hard to do online! You certainly don't need to be a tech wiz to put these strategies action! When you begin to use them, you'll begin to set yourself apart from your competition and increase your eBay income.

This is one reason of why you MUST have a website or at least a web hosting account. If you want to be able to use multimedia, you need to have a web host provider to store your files so visitors can listen to them or watch them. It's just like putting a picture on the internet. You have to have a place to host it.

If you want to get into using audio and video in your auctions, I would highly recommend the web host I use! For the service they give, they are hands-down, no holds barred the best, for the small chump of change ($5.00-$10.00 per month or so) you'll pay for their service. The small cost is worth it when compared to the advantages you'll gain when you provide another avenue of communication to your visitors. It will set you apart from the crowd. At the minimum, using audio alone greatly increases your exposure and helps you to stand out!

If you don't want to have a website, at least sign up for Lunar Pages to host your multi media files.

They've got tutorials and a help forum to help you with practically anything you need help with!

Think about it. If you were to put an audio button on your auction page introducing yourself to your visitor and telling them about your auction, who do you think they'll remember? What would be your impression to arrive at an auction page like that if it was done right? You'll stand out from the crowd and your visitor would be like "wow, I haven't seen that in the last auction listings I've visited"!

The amazing thing is it's not hard to do! The next amazing thing is that the technology used to deliver the audio makes it so that anyone can listen to it at the click of a button no matter what speed the visitor is connected to the internet at! Even visitors with slow dial up modems can hear it at the click of a button!

Out of all the eBay tips and tricks you may have seen, this is an awesome eBay trick to not only enhance your auction listings, but it will help you to make more money on the backend. This is not designed for eBay cheats who tricks eBay visitors into anything unethical or breaks any rules, guidelines or policies.

It's time to take your eBay auction business into the future using these eBay marketing multi media methods!

Let me show you how!

First, once a visitor arrives at your auction listing, you will have an audio button there next to your product picture or somewhere in your auction listing where it will be seen. Preferably at the top of the listing, that's why I have always hosted my pictures with my own web host and then placed my audio button next to my picture.

You'll tell your visitor with your own voice some basic stuff about the auction listing but then give them your "pitch" trying to get them to your "about me" page where you want them to go or your website. Be careful here as there are strict rules and guidelines for promoting your website through your eBay listings.

Check out an example of one of my auction listing audios:

Take careful note that you do not violate any policy here. There are strict guidelines on how you can link to your about me page from your auctions and how you can link to your website from your about me page. If you've gotten a copy of the "The Silent Sales Machine" you'll see how to develop a plan to do this.

I'll compliment The Silent Sales Machine by taking it a step further and using the information in that book but by doing it with audio clips!

If you violate eBay's link policies and they catch you, they'll warn you, shut down your listing and / or take down your "About Me" page. You don't want any of those things to happen because once you get on their black list, they'll watch you. Trust me, I know. I've pushed the edge with their links policies (unintentionally). They've warned me a few times and even taken down some of my listings as a result of it. (That's before I became an eBay powerseller.)

According to their links policies, it's difficult to say how they would define the language you use in your audio. They haven't dealt with it much and haven't had a reason to since no-one is really doing it. But it's important to note how they define a link:

"A link is any mechanism used to take you off the eBay site, whether static or clickable. This applies to any format used for a link that includes, but is not limited to, text, images, logos or icons."

My button in the auction is NOT a link that is going to take anyone off the site from my listing. But check out this slick eBay trick!

Note the example again and notice something about the message.

My eBay I.D. was auctionnichemarkets so I say in my audio, "Thank you for visiting my auctions at my eBay ID auctionnichemarkets which is also my website..." at www.auctionnichemarkets.com ..."

Did you get that?

I just plugged my website using an audio clip by simply telling the visitor that my eBay ID is the name of my website. Now the visitor knows they can look at my website and they know the address to get to it. Yet, I have NOT violated any links policy by taking the visitor off of their site and I have NOT promoted any sales outside of eBay! O.K. no applause, but don't you think that's pretty clever? You can do the same if you have a website! That's why having a website is extremely important!

Take advantage of every opportunity you can to produce traffic to your site to capture that traffic! That's the lifeblood of your business and if anything ever happens to your online auction business, you still have your online business outside of online auctions making you money!

Now, second note, I make a point of emphasis to visit my "About Me" page and once the visitor goes to my "About Me" page, I make a point of emphasis to visit my website which is allowed according to eBay's "About Me" page links policy. You just can't have language that promotes sales on your "About Me" page or promotes off eBay sales.

Here is my "old" about me page:

Note: This link is NOT taking you to the eBay site. This is simply an example of my old about me page.

I used to offer a free mini course on my website at auctionnichemarkets.com

This website has since taken a new look, but when it was connected to my eBay auction business, the links took the visitor to my website where they received a free newsletter course. (This is the reason for the reference on the right hand side.)

On your about me page, you'll have another audio button with a different message which promotes your website as well. From there, you want them to visit your website (if you have one).

Check out an example of one of my "eBay about me" page buttons:

Are you beginning to see my strategy? Think how you can do the same in your niche market.

Let's pause for a second. Did you hear the music at the beginning and end of my clips? Music plays a big part in setting the mindset and emotion of the visitor. An audio button with music clips in the front and back sounds more professional than with speech only and adds more credibility and prestige in the mind of your visitor.

You can mix your music clips with your voice clip into one file using the free software called Audacity that you'll find in this FREE ebook you can download right now! It has tutorials on how to do it and it's as easy as eating apple pie!

If you want to add a more professional presentation with your audio button, you can pick up a copy of Front and Back Music that has over 100 clips of royalty free music, 50 fronts and 50 backs in 6 different styles!

If you don't want to use Audacity to mix your voice and music tracks, then you can also use the simple to use software that comes with Front and Back Music to mix your voice and music clips in a 3 step process anyone can do!

If you decide to use music with your voice clips, the reason you want to use Front and Back Music is because these music clips are royalty free meaning that you don't have to pay anyone to use them. If you use music clips that are not royalty free, you could find yourself wearing a lawsuit!

Using Front and Back Music is the perfect solution if you want to use music in your clips! However, no matter if you want to use an audio button with or without music, using your voice when selling items on eBay will help you to get in the mind of your consumer. You will be able to establish a more personal relation with them and that is what sales are all about in any industry!

Now, to record audio, you'll need a descent microphone. If you don't have a professional sound card or mixer, you'll need to get a high impedance microphone with an 1/8" or 1/4" plug that will plug into your sound card on your PC. I bought a $25.00 microphone from Radio Shack and it does just fine.

That's all you'll need if you've got a sound card in your PC and the ability to record on your operating system.

Read the information in your bonus ebook for recording tips. You'll need the recording software in there. Like I said Audacity is a good recording software that will allow you to record and mix your tracks into one if you have more than 1 track. Once you have that mixed down into 1 track and it's saved as a WAV file or an MP3, then that file will need to be compressed into an SWF file and it'll be converted into an audio button!

The software you need to do that is MP3 SoundStream and you may be able to download a free trial version of it. It is one of the most important eBay selling tools you'll need. (Yes, these are the buttons you see in these examples.)

I actually did an interview with Quentin Brown, the owner of MP3 Soundstream about how effective using audio is in your eBay auctions. Check out MP3 SoundStream and see how easy it really is to use. It is a powerful tool to use as an eBay seller that will give you advantages over those who aren't using it.

Inside the bonus ebook will have video tutorials on how to use MP3 SoundStream. There are other audio button software programs out there that will do the same thing, but you're going to pay close to a $100.00 or more for them or pay on a monthly basis which will add up to way more than that and quite honestly, they don't exceed the quality of MP3 SoundStream!

With MP3 SoundStream you don't need to be concerned about cost because you won't even pay $40.00 for it! It's absolutely the best audio button software out there for the price! This product is absolutely grossly under-priced and you need to take advantage of it in case Quentin ever decides to raise the price! I can't say enough about it!

By using these simple audio techniques, I'm confident your auction visitors will not only come back to YOU when they're looking for the items you're selling, but reward you by helping you to profit on eBay. The only way this strategy will fail is if you cannot sing and you try to serenade your visitors! I wouldn't suggest that if you can't carry a tune in a bucket. However, if you can sing, what a great way to brand your message! Hmmm... just a thought.

You should now have a completely different concept of selling on online auctions using audio and you should now be able to see how these eBay tricks, tips, techniques and selling strategies can help you to grow your eBay profits and give you an unfair advantage over your competition! Now is the time to take advantage of them!
